“Ready to Dance” times are when rehearsal actually begins. You must be ready to dance at that time. Performers should plan to be present 30 minutes before the rehearsal in order to costume and prepare. We understand that there are students who are dismissed from school later and are unable to ask for an early dismissal. Please arrive as quickly as possible, and do your hair and makeup in the car if possible.

We will do the best we can to be on time as much as possible, but this is a rehearsal, and can be unpredictable. We have far fewer required rehearsals than any otherNUTCRACKER. Please understand if we are running somewhat off schedule!

Please make note of this very important information. Even if your dancer is not in costume, they need to remain in the rehearsal location paying close attention. There may be staging or spacing changes…..lots of things can be adjusted. We will dismiss your complete group when they are all finished for the day.

COSTUMES, HAIR AND MAKEUP

  • Costumes:  The in-costume schedule for the rehearsals is specified above.  All other dancers should be in dancewear (leotard, tights, ballet shoes).

  • Hair and Make up:  Proper hair for the Sunday rehearsal, but make-up is optional.  Proper hair and full make-up for Monday and Tuesday rehearsal, except no ringlets or curls needed for those rehearsals (see note below).

  • Ringlets and Curls: Ringlets and curls are needed for dancers that require them on Sunday, but not on Monday or Tuesday because we understand most dancers will be coming straight from school. Dancers requiring ringlets and curls must have all hair in front of the ears pulled back into a half ponytail (we call it “half up/half down”). The ponytail should have a piece of the dancer’s hair from underneath the ponytail wrapped around the hair elastic, then bobby pinned in place, so that all you see is the dancer’s hair.  If you do not know how to do it, ask any mom who already has done them.  You’ll soon be an expert!

FOOD AND DRINK

NO FOOD OR DRINK OTHER THAN CLEAR WATER ALLOWED IN: ANY STUDIO, IN THE THEATER OR THEATER DRESSING ROOM, OR WHILE WEARING ANY COSTUME. CAMPOLINDO DOES NOT ALLOW FOOD OR DRINK IN ANY THEATER AREA (but food is allowed in the multi-use room [main dressing room], as long as not consumed in costume).

  • All other female dancers dress in the Campo multi-purpose room, except for MONDAY rehearsal when we will not have use of the multi room and will need to use the Theater lobby as the dressing room – all dancers dressing in the Theater lobby will need to wear a tan camisole leotard.
  • Men and boys will have a dressing room set up for them in a pop up tent outside the multi-purpose room for the rehearsals and shows.
  • Quick Changes: Female dancers with quick changes of less than two dances/three minutes may make those changes in the designated Quick Change Area adjacent to the backstage dressing room (and NOT in the backstage dressing room), but must obtain a quick change pass (contact Meredith at meredithpeterson@pacunion.com), and return to the multi-purpose dressing room for other changes.
